Are you a leader or helping professional? Feeling stuck, down, at a crossroads in your personal or professional life? Even the strongest among us can feel lost, unsure, ambivalent, or unhappy at times.
One of the most common themes I hear from leaders and helpers is that they can't talk to their friends and family because they don't want to burden anyone, and no one seems to "get it." They also end up isolating from colleagues and peers because they are worried that opening up could negatively impact their careers or personal lives.
If you prefer to speak privately with a seasoned professional who understands the unique challenges of your life, get in touch.
Today I asked my parents why they never hung up their Harvard diplomas until after they retired. My dad’s response: “I don’t know.” My mom’s response: “I always thought if you have to tell people you’re smart then you’re not.” In 2017, I am trying to balance the lessons they taught me in humility with the need to market myself in search of meaningful work. How do you think we can stay humble and still promote ourselves? Is it possible to do both?
